Kellie Chong along with her husband Alfred serve as ENAC’s Connect Group Directors. Kellie is a part-time administrator but full-time homemaker as she and Alfred raise their three children: Ethan, Caitlyn and Esther. Although the whole family is ethnically Malaysian Chinese, the daughters are Kiwis!
Kellie and Alfred are passionate about Connect Groups. Connect Groups are the heartbeat of church life. “We see Connect Groups as a great way for each person to get to know other people and build authentic relationships,” which is at the heart of our Church family. Every church member is encouraged to be part of a connect group that welcomes their friends, family, co-workers and at times strangers. If Connect Groups are healthy and growing, then the Church grows automatically.
Specifically as the Connect Group Directors, Alfred and Kellie provide pastoral support and coaching for the Connect Group Leaders. They also help identify locations and interests for Connect Groups, and seek opportunities for new ones to start-up across the landscape of Auckland. Another aspect of their directorship relates to developing Connect Group Coaches which will provide pastoral care for future Connect Group leaders as numbers grow and expand to ensure everyone is equipped and empowered to lead people and help them connect with God, which is the most important connection anyone could ever make.
