Our History

During the year 1999 four families arrived from Tennessee, USA to establish a church and apostolic hub for the South Pacific. The team was led by Pastor Ken and Renee Dew and a church called Morning Star Christian Church was born on the North Shore of Auckland in the beginning of 2000. The primary focus was to reach university students with the gospel and have them firmly established through discipleship. God blessed their evangelistic efforts with great growth and Morning Star International now had an spiritual outpost in the South Pacific.

In 2002 a team was sent from the North Shore to Melbourne to plant a church. Gods favour and blessing continued to pour out over the churches and campus ministries and Victory Leadership Institute (VLI) was launched. VLI is the training and equipping arm of Morning Star to build strong disciples. In 2004, the name of the church was changed to Every Nation Christian Church in conjunction with a global name change to Every Nation Ministries which is a worldwide family of churches and ministries. Every Nation Ministries is led by our President, Pastor Steve Murrell who is based at Victory Christian Fellowship in Manila, Philippines. At the same time VLI became ENLI (Every Nation Leadership Institute) and we have been raising and releasing leaders ever since.

Since then we have planted churches in Sydney North, South Auckland and Brisbane. During that season of time countless people have been saved, received leadership training and become modern day missionaries wherever the Lord calls them. During this time we served the people of Samoa for 3 years by establishing our Leadership Institute over there with the support of Peace Chapel Church in Apia.

The original church on the North Shore continued to grow and continued its focus on making disciples primarily through evangelising university students and reaching out into various communities. After extensive prayer and careful strategic planning in February 2014 three important changes occurred. Richard and Chrissie Urbahn, who are born and bred Kiwis, were set in as the Senior Leaders, the Sunday celebrations were relocated to Auckland City and our name changed to Every Nation Auckland City(ENAC). ENAC remains fully committed to honouring God by making disciples and planting churches that redeem university campuses and communities.

The rest of our story is yet to be lived and written…….you may be a part of our exciting journey.
